Through research and expertise we help organisations and leaders effectively implement projects related to sport. We support those, who use sport as a tool of change.
Sportimpakt is a team of experienced researchers and project managers, who assist organisations in planning and applying policies and programmes linking sport, community health, development and quality of life.
We represent different scientific disciplines, which facilitates interdisciplinary research perspectives. Furthermore, experience in working with multiple entities helps us combine theoretical and practical know-how.
Our team gained experience through Social Project 2012. It was an initiative developed at the University of Warsaw before the UEFA European Football Championship in 2012, in order to understand the social impact of the largest sporting event in Poland. Then, within the Centre of Social Challenges at the University of Warsaw, which inherited the expertise of Social Project 2012, we have engaged in the area of sport in the context of the effectiveness of policies and programmes. Both entities built strong relationships across sectors, studying and evaluating most of the largest sports projects in Poland.
Experience
At the Centre of Social Challenges our researchers prepared analysis of the local sport for provinces such as Kujawsko-Pomorskie and Warmia-Mazury and for townland of Mrągowo. These studies preceded the development of local sport strategies. We conducted evaluations of almost all major national programs popularising sport for children and adolescents, co-financed by the Department of Sport and Tourism.
Sportimpakt researchers conducted studies and analysis for the Foundation for the Development of Physical Culture (‘Animator Orlik’, ‘Orlik 2012’). The team members played key roles in large research projects, for example evaluation of the LOTTO Million Dreams Foundation project, ‘Trasy Zdrowia’ PZU and for UEFA (evaluation of social responsibility programme activities accompanying UEFA European Football Championship 2012). We also have a broad experience in international co-operations. As an example of such an initiative we prepared a review on physical activity of children and adolescents in Poland under Active Healthy Kids Global Alliance network.
In conclusion, our services primarily refer to supporting projects in the area of sport and public health through in-depth research and consultation. We help organisations successfully conduct their activities, starting from the needs diagnosis, developing of the theory of change and project planning through evaluation process, to assessing a long-term social impact of the initiatives.
